Design Development Stage:
The design development stage is all about taking the proposed design and refining it to the clients requests, the key here is to really listen to what the client has to say so as we can finalise the design in such a way that the client is totally happy!
Requested changes included the addition of a powder room upstairs, changes to the ensuite, the addition of a bath to the downstairs bathroom, tweaking the store and study areas, along with some external changes to claddings, etc.
Wes and Regina approved the design and gave authority to proceed to documentation (working drawings) on the 30th May, 2014.
Whereas the previous stages were all about producing a design to meet the client’s brief and tastes, this stage is all about producing a set of plans suitable for the approval process, along with costing’s and construction. A significant amount of detail is added to the plans and they are changed from more of a graphic (presentation) plan to a construction document.
There were a couple more minor design tweaks during this stage and then the final plans were completed on the 13th of June 2014.
