Design and Documentation
This is a 4 stage process that is tailored to the individual client:
- Starting with the the pre design stage including the initial conversations, fee proposal and formulating a design brief.
- From there the sketch design stage begins and following the design brief closely, the building is designed with consideration to the unique challenges of the individual site.
- Next comes the design development stage where the building design is “massaged” to the client’s requests.
- Once the design is finalised we proceed to the Documentation Stage where a set of Construction Documents are completed, ready for lodging for Building Approval and Construction.
Drafting Service
This service is for those who already have a building design and are looking for documentation services only. This could reasonably be compared to stages 3 and 4 of the above with the design development stage becoming more of a design review and recommendation service.
New Home Design
There’s nothing quite like starting with a clean slate to really get the creative juices flowing! Designing new homes gives us a lot more freedom to explore innovative design solutions, rather than having to work in with the style of an existing home. We work very closely with our clients to determine not only what they need in their home, but also to get in touch with their personal style, their likes and dislikes, and their vision for their home.
Multi-res Design
At UDS we understand the investment and development side of building, we enjoy helping people who are looking to build their wealth through developing. That is why we love doing multi-res developments, anything from smaller subdivision projects like a 1 into 2, or 4 dwellings like the one shown in our Projects tab, to villa or town house developments and unit blocks. So wether you are a builder/developer doing large scale projects, an investor doing your first development project, or anywhere in between, we’d love to help you with creative, cost effective designs, because we understand that in developing it really is all about the bottom line, and we want to help you maximise your profits!. Along with our senior contract designer, we have over 33 years of experience, working on many multi-res projects, large and small, and are excited about moving UDS further into this market.
Renovations, Raise Ups and Extensions
Our services also cater for renovations, raise ups and additions to existing homes. Our goal with any renovation project is to integrate the new work with the existing in the best possible way, either matching the existing style of the home, or using complimentary but contrasting design, depending on the client’s preference. Be it big or small, we take the same care to ensure your renovation improves your home, not simply changes it!
